Is mp3 better than wma as far as sound quality? I just got an mp3 player and it says that it can hold 240 songs on mp3 and 480 on wma. Does this mean that wma sound quality is worse? Do mp3 songs and wma songs cost the same? Why can my mp3 player hold more wma songs than mp3 songs? If you could help that would be great!
Is mp3 better than wma?
It's the same audio quality, but WMA's are generally smaller file sizes.
Reply:WMA files can be encoded at a lower bit rate than MP3 files and still retain the same quality. For example, to get the sound quality of a 192 kbps WMA file, you have to encode a MP3 file at 320 kbps. The higher bit rate will result in a bigger file, so generally, WMA files are smaller than MP3 files.
Reply:the big diff is that more things can play mp3 than wma. the wma r at a better quality than mp3 at a higher bitrate. also, mp3 use has been patented thus the reason for creating wma
Does this look good
