Mp3 and laptop issues...?

okay...i've got a samsung mp3 player...i know nothing about mp3 players and laptops....i wanted to download some songs to my mp3 player...but when i plug the cord into the laptop, it doesn't show up anywhere on my laptop. in fact, when my mp3 player is plugged into my laptop, it might say that it's charging but it really isn't...one time, i left it in for almost 8 hours and it still had low batteries...HELP!!!

Mp3 and laptop issues...?
if the mp3 player came with a cd

try installing that cd first then plugging it in

but most of the time the computer will notice the device then ask for a cd or download the devioce itself
Reply:Software issue? Are you using XPLAY or some other software?
Reply:make sure that your mp3 player is turned on when you plug it in. Some will only work that way. Look in the bottom right side of your screen when you plug in your mp3 player %26amp; see if it says new hardware device detected. If it does click on that %26amp; follow the prompts
