Seriously i think an Ipod is the best thing. (Costco has really good deals on them.) I thought I would get a better deal buying a Sandisk Sansa , but it turned out to be a total rip off. (the thing pratically fell apart in my hand!)
For your accessories your going to want to get a protective case because those little things scratch pretty easily, a clip or necklace band so they're easier to keep track of, and if you want you might want to buy your own earphones because some people find the Ipod earphones very uncomfortable. I bought my mp3/video player at www.catabox.com for $60. It is a 2GB (500 songs) player that also plays video, fm radio and is a voice recorder as well. It came with a USB cable, headphones, wall charger and a user's manual. I am a student and so have really liked having the voice recorder built into the mp3 player so I don't have to carry two devices around. You can use this player with music you download from iTunes. You just have to convert the iTunes files to mp3 files before you transfer them to your player. The website I mentioned has a FAQs page that tells you how to do that. Good luck!

The easiest method would be to first burn the file(s) to disc, then rip them, either from iTunes (in mp3 format), or through another tool (windows media player 10 and 11 can make mp3's if you configure them also).
This method is not recommended, and quite lossy (to an audiophiles ear anyways), but will get the job done.

Note that ITunes makes it difficult to export files to mp3 in an effort to promote Apple products and also to prevent illegal music transmission (I'm not sure which they consider more important). This is irritating since people will find ways around it, particularly by not using ITunes. Apple never really believed in competition, so they ignore it more often than not.

1. open the mp3 link
2. right click on the "mediaplayer" then click properties
3. hightlight "Location:" should be like
http://www.esnips.com/nsdoc/..bla.bla...... and "COPY" (CTRL-C)
4. "PASTE" that link back to your browser then %26lt;ENTER%26gt;
B. How to download Video file
1. open the video link
2. on the browser link change the
http://www.esnips.com/doc/... bla bla bla
with
http://www.esnips.com/nsdoc/............... bla bla bla
happy now ???
